04/01/2015 | RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH – Brother Ransome | #ROR Daily Devotional … We Bless The Day!

“For if because of one man’s trespass [lapse, offense] death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favour) and the FREE GIFT of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) – Romans 5 : 17 (Amplified)”

The two major free gifts which makes the believer reign in life are: (1) The Gift of Grace (2) The Gift of Righteousness. Grace and righteousness gives you the super power to reign and live victoriously in this world. The revelation of these two puts the believer in the class of God. In this episode, I will talk extensively on Righteousness by Faith, but let me make few convincing and powerful statements about The Gift of Grace.

The Gift of Grace is simply Unmerited Favour. Sin does not stop God’s grace from flowing; But God’s grace will sure stop sin. Grace is free, that is why it is a gift, but Grace does not mean you are free to sin, it means you are free from sin. Grace cannot be earned or merited. If you can merit or deserve it, then it is not grace. Grace is the foundation of every believer’s stand of righteousness [our right standing with God].

There are two kinds of righteousness revealed in scripture:

(1)    Righteousness by the Law or by Works: This is based on doing right or keeping commandments and laws. Based on Romans 10: 14, no man is accepted in the presence of God on the basis of this kind of Righteousness.

(2)    Righteousness by Faith: This is based on believing in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Faith alone in this area makes your righteous. This righteousness is a gift from God [Romans 5:17], this righteousness was worked for, but not by the recipient. You become righteous on the basis of what Jesus did on the cross not what you did or do here on earth.

Righteousness by faith is the ability to stand before God without any sense of guilt, fear, inferiority or condemnation. Righteousness is God’s nature, and that nature was imparted into you when you became born again. That righteousness is not a thing, He is a person.

It is you and I who became the righteousness of God in Christ and it is appropriated by faith, and this righteousness is revealed and manifested in us from one degree of faith to another. [Romans 1: 17, 2Corinthians 5: 21]. The New creation in Christ is a righteous man. We do not work or show any effort to attain it.

Believers have been made righteous. We do not struggle to win; we have won a long time ago. Trying to live righteously will simply negate the works of Jesus Christ on the Cross. We are already made righteous. Just believe that your God’s righteousness in Christ Jesus and act that way.

Believers are not sinners. We are no longer “a soul who sins shall die” [Ezekiel 18: 20]. A sinner needs remission of sins, blood washing and water cleansing by the word, because he has been condemned to die.

In God’s sight, sinners are not just sinners; they are dead ones, without hope in the world. But when a believer errs or sin, he no longer needs remission, his original sins were already blotted out and remitted the day he was born again, what a believer needs is Forgiveness from that sin based upon a confession, because he already has an advocate. [1 John 2:2].

A lot of Christians confuse moral or right living with Righteousness. Once you live right and you don’t miss any mark and you don’t commit sin, you are simply righteous before God. No brother! No Sister! The Righteousness of God in Christ is not based on how right you have lived morally; the fact that you committed a sin or made a mistake will never nullify your stand of righteousness with God.

God will never take back his gift of Righteousness which you obtained at new birth because you committed a sin. It is a gift of God to you and it yours for good, even with your mess and mistakes. All you need do is to acknowledge your faults and be drawn into the spirit of repentance and forsake them and you shall be refreshed again.

*** PRAYER FOR THE DAY – Dear Father, thank you for making righteous in Christ Jesus! I reign in life today as a king, bearing fruits of righteousness and living in your power and glory forever in Jesus Name, Amen.

*** CONFESSION OF THE DAY I have been imparted with the gift of righteousness and I have right standing with God. I have been justified by faith and have been ushered into a life of peace. I celebrate and take advantage of the grace in me and I do not frustrate it.
