Thinking you don’t need a local church or a pastor is thinking out of God’s plan.
Saying “I love Jesus but not the church” is like saying “I love the groom but not the bride.”
God never presents the believer outside the local church; hence you cannot separate yourself or the believer from the local church.
The local church is God’s idea, not man’s idea.
Being a christian and not fully committed to a particular local church or not accountable to a pastor is detrimental to your spiritual growth.
Being in church also for a long time and not getting fully involved in the work of the ministry is one way of locking down your spiritual progress.
When you are committed to a local and a pastor, you’re actually committed to following God’s plan.
If you’re someone who does not attend church regularly or you are not accountable to a pastor, it is time to brace up and follow God’s plan.
The local church and a pastor (and other ministry gifts) are God’s strategic plan for your spiritual growth.
Ephesians 1: 22 – 23 – And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the Head over all things to the Church, which is His Body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.
Hebrews 10:25 – Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some [is]; but exhorting [one another]: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
